On December 17, the 2021 "Hillhouse Public Welfare Scholarship" Final Defense Meeting of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Kaiyuan Law School was successfully held at Hillhouse Institute. Wang Houji, Party Secretary of Kaiyuan Law School, presided over the meeting, Zhu Qin, chief partner of Hillhouse Law Firm, Ping Yawei, senior partner of Hillhouse Law Firm, faculty representatives of Kaiyuan Law School and students of Kaiyuan Law School participated in the meeting.

During the evaluation process, the final candidates will answer one by one. Among them, five candidates of "Guohillhouse Public Welfare Scholarship" (collective) conducted defense based on their own experience and harvest in public welfare services. The judges had in-depth exchanges with the candidates one by one, and the students' wonderful display won the applause of the judges present.

After the evaluation, Mr. Wang expressed his gratitude to Mr. Liang Wenqing, Mr. Zhu Qin, Mr. Ping Yawei and other alumni for their support of the college's talent training work. He recalled that since the establishment of the "Guohillhouse Public Welfare Scholarship" for three years, it has selected and rewarded a large number of outstanding students with excellent character and academic performance, effectively enhanced the atmosphere of Kaiyuan Law School students to strive for the top and their enthusiasm for public welfare undertakings, and become the school's education brand.

The "Hillhouse Public Welfare Scholarship" was jointly proposed by the alumni of Shanghai Hillhouse Law Firm and established in 2018. At the beginning of the scholarship, it was supported by a number of Hillhouse Law firm alumni and colleagues from other law schools. The scholarship is mainly used to support students of Kaiyuan Law School of Shanghai Jiaotong University to participate in social practice activities and reward students for public welfare activities, aiming to encourage the cultivation of outstanding law talents who have professional theoretical knowledge, but also have a mind of the country and the world and push forward. The establishment of the scholarship also reflects the unremitting efforts and pursuit of the legal talent team of Guolinghouse Law Firm to "combine theory and practice, research and development".
